A dated comparison of selected World Bank benchmarks, with the units and market basis needed to avoid confusing international reference prices with local offers.

September reference prices The World Bank's Pink Sheet, released on 2 October 2026, reports these September monthly averages in US dollars: - Cocoa: USD 5.92 per kilogram; ICCO terminal-market reference. - Groundnuts: USD 1,563 per metric tonne; US 40/50 Runner grade, CFR Northwest Europe. - Soybeans: USD 524 per metric tonne; US origin, FOB US Gulf. - Maize: USD 239.60 per metric tonne; US No. 2 yellow, FOB US Gulf. - Thai white rice, 5% broken: USD 482 per metric tonne; FOB Bangkok.
What these figures mean These are historical monthly benchmarks, not live offers, Nigerian farmgate prices or executable AgroHub quotations. Different origins, grades and delivery terms must not be compared as if they were identical.
Before agreeing a trade AgroHub editorial guidance: request a dated seller quote showing origin, specification, quantity, currency, unit, named delivery point and Incoterm. Compare freight and inspection costs separately. No current sesame, ginger or hibiscus price is asserted here.
